Connecting with Our Community
Our Commitment to the Community
At Affordable Automotive Repair, supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do. Over the years, we’ve partnered with local organizations, contributed to meaningful causes, and created educational opportunities that empower individuals and families across the Fredericksburg region. Here are some of the ways we’ve been honored to serve.
🚗💛 YOUTH AUTOMOTIVE DAY WAS A HIT! 💛🚗
We are still buzzing from this weekend — we had
close to 70 students come through the shop for a full hands‑on learning experience, and WOW… what an incredible group!
These kids were
involved,
curious, and
so intelligent. We were genuinely shocked by how much automotive knowledge was already in the room. They asked amazing questions, jumped right into every station, and made the entire day unforgettable.
🔥 Fan Favorite of the Day: The Tire Station!
Almost every student LOVED it — and they absolutely crushed it.
We’ve already received tons of wonderful feedback from families, and we’re waiting on the rest of the photos to come in so we can share even more moments from the event.
Thank you to every family who joined us, supported us, and shared the event.
Thank you to the community for helping us make this possible. We had an amazing time and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
Cooking Autism, Inc.
We are proud to support
Cooking Autism, Inc., an organization that provides life‑skills programs, classroom support, and resources for neurodiverse children and their families. Their mission has touched countless lives, and we’ve been honored to sponsor events, donate supplies, and stand alongside them year after year. We look forward to continuing this partnership and encourage our community to learn more about their incredible work and how you can help.
Suicide Awareness & TWLOHA
Suicide awareness is deeply personal to our team. Several of us have lost loved ones, and we are committed to supporting prevention efforts and mental‑health advocacy. We have partnered with
TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms), an organization dedicated to providing hope, support, and resources for people struggling with depression, addiction, self‑harm, and suicidal thoughts. In past years, we’ve donated over
$600 and will continue to support TWLOHA every September during
Suicide Awareness Month, accepting donations at the shop to help fund their life‑saving programs.
Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank
Giving back to families in need is a priority for us. We’ve hosted donation drives for the
Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, rallying our customers and community to contribute non‑perishable items, funds, and volunteer time. Every can and every dollar makes a difference, and thanks to your generosity, we’ve helped support local households during critical times. We will continue hosting annual donation drives each
March for National Nutrition Month to help fight hunger in our region.
Inova Blood Drives
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first annual blood drive! Inova Hospital brought their mobile donation bus, and our community showed up in full force — we filled the bus and helped save lives. Blood donations are essential for emergency care, surgeries, cancer treatment, and trauma response. We are committed to hosting annual or bi‑annual blood drives, with our next event scheduled for January 2 2027. Your donation truly makes a life‑changing impact.
Women’s Automotive Class
Empowerment through education is one of our favorite initiatives. We hosted a hands‑on
Women’s Automotive Class designed to build confidence, safety awareness, and practical knowledge. Participants learned:
- Basic vehicle components
- Routine maintenance
- How to change a tire
- Emergency preparedness
- How to communicate with mechanics
- Tips for buying new or used vehicles
Due to high demand, we will be offering another class next year with space for
30–50 women per session. This workshop is open to everyone — no experience or shop history required. Food and drinks are provided as we learn, laugh, and grow together.
Winter Wonderland Toy Drive – Lifepoint Church
We were honored to partner with
Lifepoint Church for their Winter Wonderland outreach event. Families from the Fredericksburg area were invited to shop for their children at no cost — each child received a stocking, a Bible, and six gifts. Thanks to our customers and community, we collected
over 1,200 donations, shopped as a team to fill in the gaps, and helped bring joy to more than
600 children during the holiday season.
Brakes for Breasts – Fighting for a Future Without Breast Cancer
Every October, Affordable Automotive Repair proudly participates in
Brakes for Breasts, a nationwide fundraising campaign supported through TechNet that helps drive groundbreaking breast cancer research. This program is unique because
100% of the funds raised go directly to developing a breast cancer vaccine — a mission led by the Cleveland Clinic’s Dr. Vincent Tuohy and his research team.
During the month of October, we offer
free brake pads (up to $150 per set) to our customers. In return, our shop donates
10% of ALL brake services performed throughout the month to Brakes for Breasts. We also accept additional donations in the shop for anyone who wants to contribute further.
Brakes for Breasts supports research focused on creating a vaccine designed to prevent breast cancer before it starts — giving hope to millions of women, families, and future generations. We are honored to stand behind this mission every year and invite our community to join us in supporting life‑changing medical innovation.
Our Promise Moving Forward
We believe in showing up — for families, for kids, for those in need, and for the organizations doing incredible work in our community. Affordable Automotive Repair is committed to continuing these programs, expanding our outreach, and finding new ways to make a positive impact every year.
